Mr. Lovell founded Lovell Minnick Partners LLC (LMP) in 1999. He serves as the Chairman and a Managing Director. Prior to LMP’s organization, Mr. Lovell was the co-founder and President of Putnam Lovell Securities. During the 1990’s, Putnam Lovell emerged as a preeminent boutique investment bank serving the financial services sector. Putnam Lovell was acquired by the National Bank of Canada in 2002. Prior to organizing Putnam Lovell’s private equity affiliate in 1999, Mr. Lovell advised on numerous merger and acquisition transactions in the financial services industry. He served as the senior banker to a diverse group of financial institutions such as Commerzbank AG, Liechtenstein Global Trust, Nationwide Insurance and New York Life as well as a prestigious list of private firms including American Century, Hotchkis & Wiley and Montgomery Securities. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lovell held executive positions at SEI Investments. From 1976 to 1988, he led international, national and regional sales efforts within various divisions of SEI. In the mid-1980s, he launched SEI’s first overseas business venture in London, directed its non-US acquisition efforts, and introduced various international investment management services. Mr. Lovell received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, cum laude, with a major in Finance from the Leeds School of Business at University of Colorado in Boulder. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of Duff & Phelps Corporation, Leerink Swann Holdings, Matthews International Capital Management and Mercer Advisors Inc. He is a member of the Investment Policy Committee of University of Colorado Foundation and a Board member emeritus of the Leeds School.
