David C. Wilhelm, Ph.D. is the Founder and Partner at Adena Ventures. He serves as a Partner and Co-Founder at Hopewell Ventures, L.P. He is the Founder of Woodland Venture Management and serves as its President. Dr. Wilhelm is a Partner and the Chief Strategy Officer of Hecate Energy. Earlier, Dr. Wilhelm was the Senior Managing Director at Kemper Securities. He also co-founded Wilhelm & Conlon in 1997. He was a Director of Bally Total Fitness Holding Corp until May 2005. He serves as a Member of Board of Advisors at Darkstrand Inc. He serves as Director at CarePages Inc. He serves as a Director at iTRACS Corporation, Inc. Dr. Wilhelm is a Director of Children's Memorial Hospital, Christian Century Magazine, and Chicago Project for Violence Prevention, the Illinois Venture Capital Association, and the Chicagoland Entrepreneurship Center. He has been a Member of International Advisory Board at The Foundation for a World in Transition, Inc since June 2014. He is Co-Chair of the Strategic Partners Group of the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs at Ohio University. He served as the Chairman of the Ohio University National Alumni Board. Dr. Wilhelm was the National Manager of Mr. Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign and was subsequently named the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee in 1993, becoming the youngest person in American history to hold that post. He has managed or chaired the campaigns of some of the nation's leading political figures, including the Late Mr. Paul Simon (Senator), Mr. Richard M. Daley (Chicago Mayor), Mr. Joseph Biden (Senator), and Mr. Rod Blagojevich (Governor). Dr. Wilhelm has received numerous accolades for his commitment to Appalachia including the Appalachian New Economy Partnership (ANEP) Entrepreneurship Award from the Voinovich Center at Ohio University. Dr. Wilhelm earned a Master’s of Public Policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. from Ohio University.
