Matt focuses on a broad range of software-driven companies. He currently serves on the boards of Animoto, Apptio, Extrahop, Skytap, Mixpo, Optify, PayScale, Smartsheet, and Isilon Systems (ISLN). He was on the boards of iConclude (acquired by Opsware), Farecast (acquired by Microsoft), Performant (acquired by Mercury Interactive), and World Wide Packets (acquired by Ciena), and was actively involved with TeamOn Systems (acquired by Research in Motion). Before joining Madrona in 2000, Matt was vice president of business process for the Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC), a Fortune 250 company. He also was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, concentrating on strategy and marketing in technology and financial service industries, and worked in investment banking at CSFB. Matt co-teaches a course on venture capital in the University of Washington Technology MBA Program. He is a board member of the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) and Villa Academy. He is on Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna’s Technology Advisory Board and is an advisory board member for Families Northwest. Matt is a graduate of Dartmouth College, holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a master’s in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
