According to The Detroit News, Karamo traveled to Arizona in June to view the state's 2020 election audit. She claimed to have seen "overwhelming evidence" of fraud and said it raised "reasonable concerns about the results in Michigan, a state Biden won back from Trump. In a September 2020 podcast she said, "If a person has demonic possession — I know it's gonna sound really crazy to me saying that for some people, thinking like what?! But having intimate relationships with people who are demonically possessed or oppressed — I strongly believe that a person opens themselves up to possession. Demonic possession is real." She also said "But having intimate relationships with people who are demonically possessed or oppressed — I strongly believe that a person opens themselves up to possession. Demonic possession is real." A group of state GOP members voted in January 2024 to oust the state party’s embattled leader, election denier Kristina Karamo. She insisted she remained in charge, but the Republican National Committee officially recognized former congressman Pete Hoekstra as Michigan GOP chairman in February 2024.
