Mitchel A. Maidman is President and Chief Executive Officer of Townhouse Management Company; Managing Partner of Maidman and Mittelman, LLP; and Chief Executive Officer of Amsterdam Realty Inc. Townhouse Management Company, founded in 1933 by William Maidman, is a diversified real estate company that acquires, develops and manages residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use properties throughout the New York metropolitan area. Through its affiliate companies Townhouse also acts as general contractor on development projects and provides real estate related legal services. Maidman and Mittelman, LLP is a New York based law firm with practice concentrations in the areas of real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, leasing, construction and development as well as general litigation matters. In addition to serving as primary counsel to Townhouse Management Company, Maidman and Mittelman LLP performs legal services for third-party clients. In 2008, Mr. Maidman was a founder of Herald National Bank (NYSE AMEX: HNB) which was sold to Bank United (NYSE: BKU) on February 29, 2012. Mr. Maidman served on HNB’s Board of Directors, was Chairman of both its Credit and Corporate Governance/Nominating Committees and served on its Audit Committee. Over the last few years Townhouse has acquired from local banks, notes having more than $20 million in principal value, secured by mortgages on 11 buildings containing more than 350 residential units and two stores in Manhattan and the Bronx. Townhouse pursued a strategy of becoming the mortgagee in possession with respect to these building and operated eight of the buildings as mortgagee-in- possession while bankruptcy and foreclosure actions continued. For another of the buildings Mr. Maidman serves as the court appointed managing agent. Mr. Maidman is Chairman of the Men’s Division and a Member of the Board of Overseers of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine; a member of the Board of Directors of the American Friends of Magen David Adom; is a member of the Executive Committee of UJA Federation of New York’s Real Estate and Allied Trades Division; and was a Trustee of Community Synagogue (Port Washington, NY) from 2007-2011. Mr. Maidman was previously with the law firm of Dreyer and Traub, LLP where he practiced primarily in the areas of litigation and real estate. Mr. Maidman received his J.D. from Cardozo Law School (’88), his B.A. in Political Science from Bard College (’86) and was a special student at the Yale School of Law (’87-‘88).
