Walter E. Williams, John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics, holds a BA degree in economics from California State University and MA and PhD degrees in economics from UCLA. In addition he holds a Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Virginia Union University and Grove City College. He has also served on the faculties of Los Angeles City College, California State University at Los Angeles, and Temple University in Philadelphia and Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvania. Dr. Williams has received numerous fellowships and awards including: the 2017 Bradley Prize from the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, California State University Distinguished Alumnus Award, and George Mason University Faculty Member of the Year. His wife Conchetta Taylor, known as Connie, died in 2007. In addition to their daughter Devon Williams, Mr. Williams is survived by a grandson.
