Mr. William E. Ford is the Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of Executive Committee, a Member of Investment Committee, Member of Executive Committee, and Member of Portfolio Committee at General Atlantic LLC. He joined the firm in 1991 and is based at New York office. Mr. Ford works closely with the portfolio companies of the firm. He brings an extensive understanding of the financial markets and has specific expertise in the finance and consumer sectors. Mr. Ford served as a Manager at Archipelago Holdings LLC since November 2003 until August 2004. He serves on the Board of several portfolio companies of General Atlantic including GETCO and NYSE Group. Mr. Ford has been a Director of SoundView Technology Group Inc. since 2000 and Archipelago Holdings LLC since March 2004. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Healthmarket Inc. Mr. Ford formerly served on the Boards of a number of other General Atlantic portfolio companies, including NYSE Euronext, NYMEX Holdings, and Computershare. He was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Computershare Limited on January 17, 2003. Mr. Ford also served as a Director of E*Trade Group, Inc., until April 2003 and was on the Compensation and Finance Committees. Mr. Ford served as a Director of Priceline.com Incorporated until January 24, 2003. He served as a Director of Chordiant Software Inc. from March 27, 2001 to September 30, 2003 and was a Member of the Audit Committee through April 17, 2003. Mr. Ford served as a Director of Prime Response Inc. from October 1997 until Chordiant Software Inc. acquired it on March 27, 2001 and was a Member of the Audit and Compensation Committees. He served as a Director of SSA Global Technologies Inc. Mr. Ford formerly served on the Board of Zagat Survey and Multiplan. He served as a Director of Critical Path Inc. since December 2001 and was a Member of Audit and Compensation Committees. He served as a Director of LHS Group Inc., since December 1995. Mr. Ford is involved with a number of educational and not-for-profit organizations. Since 2001, he has served as a Trustee of Amherst College and is the Chairman of the Investment Committee. Mr. Ford is also a Member of the Board of Trustees of Common Ground Community, NYC2012, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, The Rockefeller University, The Echoing Green Foundation, The Collegiate School, and The Spence School. He has done a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College in 1983 and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1987.
