Jay Schenirer was elected in 2010 to the Sacramento City Council, and re-elected to the council in 2014 and 2018. He chairs the Law & Legislation Committee and was elected Mayor Pro Tem by his fellow councilmembers in 2013 and Vice Mayor of Sacramento in 2014. Schenirer is in charge of district 5 in the city of Sacramento and championed the program to provide free rides with SacRT from K-12
