Lola Velarde is the Executive Director of the Political Network for Values. She has a PhD in Forestry Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She is also the Director of Development of the European Society and Education Foundation and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Valores y Sociedad. She was the Director of the Institute for Family Policy in New York from 2013 to 2016 and also chaired the European Network of the Institute for Family Policy from 2004 to 2013. She was a member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity from 2008 to 2013. She has also held several academic positions, including associate professor at King John University Carlos, in Environment (2003-2011); and visiting professor at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (2004-2006). Earlier in her career, Lola was General Director of Youth in the Community of Madrid (2001-2003); managing Director of the Madrid Institute for Agrarian Research IMIA (2000-2001); and director of the Foundation for Environmental Research and Development FIDA (1999-2000).
