Hauser joined Duke Power in 1973. For the first 20 years of his career at Duke Power, he held various accounting positions, including controller. He later served as vice president, procurement services and materials. In that role, his responsibilities included the acquisition of commodities, warehousing commodities, construction and maintenance of commercial facilities and fleet management. He was named senior vice president of global asset development in 1997; and in June 1998, he was named senior vice president and treasurer. He was named acting chief financial officer in November 2003. Hauser was named group vice president and chief financial officer in February 2004. He was named to his current position in April 2006. A native of High Point, N.C., Hauser graduated from Furman (S.C.) University with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. He received a master of business administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He completed the Executive Program of Professional Management Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a certified public accountant and a certified purchasing manager. Hauser was born in 1951. He and his wife, Nancy, have two daughters and a son.
