Chairman, President and CEO -- Amsted Industries Incorporated (diversified manufacturer for the railroad, vehicular and construction industries) since March 2001. W. Robert Reum is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of AMSTED Industries. Mr. Reum has served as a director of the company since 1992. He previously served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of The Interlake Corporation, a multinational manufacturer of engineered materials and handling/packaging systems from 1991 through 1999. Outside of work, Robert Reum was involved in the Chicago-area's cultural and nonprofit institutions. He was a member of the board of trustees and treasurer of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He also served on boards at the Morton Arboretum, a public garden and outdoor museum in Lisle, Illinois, and The Elgin Academy, a college-prep school in Elgin, Illinois. Reum was married to his wife, Sherry, for 50 years. Mr. Reum earned a B.A. degree in political science from Yale and a M.B.A. in finance from Harvard University, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
