In particular, they have spent considerable time helping those of us working on #justicereform in the #US understand just how broken and harmful our plea bargaining is, by contrast to systems of justice in Europe. Jago Russell gave a clear, quick snapshot of this at #SmartonCrime. Secondly, and just as important, other countries are at risk of adopting insane US-Style plea bargaining -- Rebecca Shaeffer and others have helped others around the world understand what a bad idea that would be.
