Des Moines, Iowa, native Rick Eytcheson stumbled into a career in radio, first as an announcer and later as an advertising salesperson. “I was a radio junkie as a kid,” Eytcheson says. “I’ve always loved radio, but I never dreamed I’d get a chance to make a living at it. It’s been a dream come true.” He moved to Sacramento in 1985 to work as general manager for radio stations that were later acquired by Chancellor Broadcasting, which Eytcheson co-founded.
