Irvin Shapell focuses his practice on the areas of employment law, medical malpractice, and litigation. In addition, he represents families of children with disabilities in the areas of special education and civil rights. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shapell was the Publisher of Woodbine House, Inc., an independent publishing company that publishes books for parents and teachers of children with disabilities. Mr. Shapell obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington (1976) and his J.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis (1979). He is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and in the State of West Virginia. He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar and has been admitted to practice before various federal districts and appellate courts in West Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is also a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
