Ernest J Newborn II

Ernest J. Newborn II is senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of USI Insurance Services, LLC, the eighth largest insurance brokerage firm in the world. Bringing experience in public and private equity-sponsored portfolio companies, he has been general counsel and a value-added business partner in the financial services industry for the past twenty-five years and developed a reputation for providing high impact, commercially- oriented advice on diverse strategic matters. Mr. Newborn was elected to the board of Strada Education Network, in 2000 and served as chairman of the board from 2009-2014. He currently serves on Strada Education’s Compensation Committee and Investment Committee. Mr. Newborn previously served as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Acordia Inc., a formerly Indianapolis-based publicly held insurance brokerage administration company. Mr. Newborn also has previously served as associate counsel for Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan and his undergraduate degree from Drake University. Mr. Newborn resides in Ridgefield CT and is active in the nonprofit community.
