Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley took office on January 3, 2017, with a bold and comprehensive plan to restore the public’s confidence by: 1) ensuring justice is sought fairly and impartially by instituting justice reforms; 2) building bridges in the community to keep our neighborhoods, families and children safe; and 3) providing leadership within the Prosecutor’s Office and its justice system partners. Prosecutor O’Malley’s professional background includes: • Bailiff, City of Cleveland • Probation Officer, City of Cleveland • Private Law Practice • Municipal Attorney • Cleveland City Councilman • Assistant County Prosecutor • Safety Director, City of Parma A native of Old Brooklyn, Prosecutor O’Malley is the youngest of 11 children. His father was a World War II veteran who became a Plasterer while his mother raised the children. He is a graduate of Kent State University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
