Jack H. Schron, Jr., has lived in Cuyahoga County for almost all his life. He returned to the county more than thirty years ago following his military service. He was reelected to a four year County Council term beginning in 2013. His first priority is job creation in traditional and new and emerging sectors and the second is continuing to rebuild the credibility of Cuyahoga County’s government. Mr. Schron has led Jergens, Inc., as President and CEO for nearly 30 years, as well as co-founding an internet education business called Tooling University. He served 28 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. A 1966 graduate of Chagrin Falls High School, Mr. Schron received a Bachelor of Science in 1970 from Florida Southern College and a Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University in 1975. He is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Florida. Previously, a 12-year member of the Chagrin Falls Board of Education, he also has served on founding board of the Clean Ohio Council, board member and Vice Chairman of MAGNET and the boards of Wire-net & NOCHE: Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education. He believes these community-service experiences provide him with the tools to promote strong ethics, build the new county government, and renew the entrepreneurial spirit to create jobs in our county. Mr. Schron married his wife, Mary Ellen, in 1970, and they have three adult sons and six grandchildren all residing in the area. Mr. Schron chairs the Economic Development & Planning Committee and serves as a member of the Finance & Budgeting, Health, Human Services & Aging and Education, Environment & Sustainability Committees.
