Ms. Grisham joined the Trump presidential campaign in 2015 and is one of the last remaining aides from the campaign still serving in the White House. She became a trusted aide after the Trumps moved into the White House, known for defending Mrs. Trump and the Trump family, and for her ability to keep the East Wing relatively free of leaks. Ms. Grisham will be President Trump’s third press secretary in less than three years. She has emerged as a ferocious defender of Mrs. Trump, writing op-eds criticizing the news media for the way it covers her. Ms. Grisham, 42, was born in Arizona and worked in Republican politics there before joining the Trump campaign. The road to Grisham's current job began in Arizona, when Grisham was doing public relations work for former Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne. Eventually, she worked for the State Legislature, and eventually, she found her way to Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign, which ultimately ended with Barack Obama's reelection. Grisham began working for then-candidate Donald Trump in 2015 as a press wrangler on the campaign trail. She entered the White House as deputy press secretary under Sean Spicer, but in March 2017, Melania Trump hired her for her East Wing staff. As East Wing communications director, Grisham quickly became the first lady's most prominent staffer. Since resigning from her position following the insurrection on January 6, Grisham has remained mostly out of the spotlight. She now lives in Kansas, where she has spent the last several months writing a book.
