Hubert Joly

Since stepping down as chief executive in 2019, Mr. Joly has taken up a post teaching at Harvard Business School and recently published a book, “The Heart of Business.” Hubert Joly served as the Chief Executive Officer of Best Buy Enterprise Services, Inc. Mr. Joly had been the Chief Executive Officer of Best Buy Co., Inc. since September 2012 and served as its President from September 2012 to 2015. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of CW Government Travel, Inc. since 2008. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Carlson Hotels Worldwide Inc. and Carlson, Inc, from March 1, 2008 to September 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Carlson Companies Inc. and Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group from March 1, 2008 to August 2012. Mr. Joly served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of P. Lawson Travel since July 2004. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Carlson Wagonlit B.V from July 2004 to April 2008. He was a consultant and then a partner of McKinsey & Company from 1982 to 1996. As a partner, he was specialized in the high-tech sector. Mr. Joly served as an Executive Vice President of Monitoring at US Assets of Vivendi Universal (now Vivendi Société Anonyme) from August 2002 to June 30, 2004. He served as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Vivendi Universal since April 2003. He served as a Member of the Executive Team of Vivendi Universal. Mr. Joly served as an Executive Vice President and Group Chief Information Officer of Vivendi Universal from November 2001 to November 2002. From December 2000 to October 2001, he was responsible for the integration of Vivendi Universal's North American activities. He served as Chairman and Director of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Inc. until August 17, 2012. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Carlson Wagonlit B.V. from July 2004 to August 2008. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Carlson Hotels, Inc. since March 2008. From July 1999 to June 2001, Mr. Joly served as the Chief Executive Officer of Havas Interactive, Vivendi Universal's interactive entertainment and educational software publishing division. Mr. Joly worked in the technology sector from 1996 to 1999 as Vice President of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Europe. He served as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of EDS France. He has been a Director of Ralph Lauren Corp. since June 30, 2009. He has been Director of Ralph Lauren Corporation since June 30, 2009. He has been Director of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Inc. since March 2008. He has been a Director of Best Buy Co., Inc. since September 2012. He serves on the Boards of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Minnesota Business Partnership, World Travel and Tourism Council and the American Chamber of Commerce in France. He serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board of the Aspen Institute France. He graduated in Business Administration from École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris (HEC Paris) and in Public Administration from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.
