James C. O'Brien brings to his role as a Principal of The Albright Group LLC and of Albright Capital Management LLC, an investment advisory firm focused on emerging markets, nearly twenty years of high-level experience working with international businesses, governments and nongovernmental organizations. Mr. O'Brien is a seasoned international negotiator, advising clients in transitional states around the world, including Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He works with clients on portfolios across a broad public-private spectrum, including consumer goods, health, entertainment, environment, and finance. He has successfully helped clients locate strategic partners with access to markets, secure contracts, expand market share, and resolve regulatory and legal disputes. Mr. O'Brien served as special presidential envoy for the Balkans, as Senior Adviser to the Secretary of State, and as Principal Deputy Director of Policy Planning. He was responsible for U.S. diplomatic, economic, and security policy in southeastern Europe and was charged with post-conflict planning and ensuring that the Department's priorities and its $23 billion budget were aligned. He earned a B.A. from Macalester College, a Master's from the University of Pittsburgh, and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
