Emma Louis-Dreyfus was a social worker and worked in San Mateo County after moving to the Bay area from her native New York in 1998. She lived between her home in San Francisco and her boyfriend's place in Oakland. She attended the prestigious Bank Street School for Children in Manhattan and Ethical Culture Fieldston School. She went on to Ivy League school Brown and graduated with a degree in psychology. She later completed a Masters in Social Welfare at Berkeley. Emma died of an apparent seizure while camping with friends near Purdon Crossing. Louis-Dreyfus, who shared her billionaire father William Louis-Dreyfus with Julia, did not leave behind a will at the time of her death and had an estate worth $23 million. A probate filing on October 3 in Alameda County, California granted her mother, Phyllis Louis-Dreyfus, the authority over her estate. Her father, William Louis-Dreyfus, died in September 2016.
