Halsey Beshears

Beshears and Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz were named in a grand jury subpoena related to an ongoing federal sex trafficking investigation. Beshears and Gaetz, who once served together in the Florida legislature, have not been charged with any crimes. Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation, or DBPR, compiled Beshears’ financial records within days of a local television station requesting them. Instead of immediately releasing the records, DBPR shared Beshears’ financial reports with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s office for a secondary “review,” delaying their release by more than two months. hat delay may have violated Florida’s public records laws.
