Partner, McDermott Will & Emery LLP Julie Miraglia Kwon is a partner with the private client group of the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP in Menlo Park, California. She advises ultra-high-net-worth families regarding estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues, charitable planning, trust and estate administration and contested trust and tax matters. Julie formerly was the philanthropic advisor for Stanford University, a national director with Bernstein Global Wealth Management, and fiduciary counsel and legacy planner for the Midwest region for Bessemer Trust Company. Julie is a Fellow elected to the American College of Trusts & Estates Counsel, and serves on the estate planning advisory panel to the American Law Institute. She also is a current supervisory council member for the real property, trust and estate section of the American Bar Association. Julie is a member of the executive committee of the trust and estates section of the State Bar of California, which reviews and develops state legislation in her practice area. Julie previously served on the Chicago Community Trust professional advisory council and as a board member for AIDS Legal Council of Chicago. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was executive editor of the Yale Journal of Law & the Humanities. She received her B.A., with distinction, from Stanford University.
