Joe Hamrock

Joe maintains executive responsibility for NiSource, leading more than 8,000 employees across natural gas and electric utilities in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He previously oversaw NiSource’s gas distribution companies, where he held responsibility for all financial, operational, regulatory and commercial performance. He joined the company in 2012 after beginning his energy career as an electrical engineer in eastern Ohio, eventually serving as president and chief operating officer of American Electric Power Ohio. Joe holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Sloan Fellow, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University. As the incoming chairman of the American Gas Association, Joe is proud to be a leading voice for the industry.
