Nicolas “Nick” Muzin is the Director of Coalitions for the House Republican Conference. He previously served as Chief of Staff and Political Director to Congressman Tim Scott. He is a licensed physician (internal medicine) who graduated from Yeshiva University in 1997 and attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, receiving his M.D. in 2001. After finishing medical school, he headed to Yale Law School and earned a J.D. in 2005. Raised in Toronto, Nick Muzin first met Tim Scott while working as corporate counsel for The InterTech Group, Inc., a private equity firm in Charleston, South Carolina. Nick Muzin provided health care policy advice to then State Rep. Scott, before becoming policy director and deputy campaign manager of his campaign for Congress. Before working under Rep. Scott, Muzin aided the 2008 John McCain presidential campaign by serving as medical advisor and a liaison to the media on medical issues. Muzin previously blended his medical and law backgrounds working at the Washington, DC-based firm Williams & Connolly LLP as an attorney specializing in representing physicians and pharmaceutical companies in civil and criminal cases. He has also served on the board of the Medical University of South Carolina’s Foundation for Research Development, where he facilitated technology transfer in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Nick Muzin still practices medicine at the Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic in Charleston, which provides medical care to uninsured adults.
