Paul spent several years working on foreign policy and national security issues as a member of the Clinton Administration at the U.S. Department of State, Following his work for the Clinton Administration, Paul came home to New Jersey where he spent one year working as the Communications Director and Spokesperson for then New Jersey Governor James McGreevey. He was also the 2006 Democratic candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 5th District. In 2008, Paul was elected to the Ridgewood Village Council. In 2012, Paul was re-elected to the Ridgewood Village Council and then selected to serve as the town’s Mayor. Paul has also worked for several years in the healthcare industry and is currently the Director of Executive Communications at Bristol-Myers Squibb, the benchmark biopharma company. Paul was graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Communication and a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science. While in school, he held congressional internships with former Senators Bill Bradley and Charles Robb. Paul is married to the love of his life, Marie, who has been an Emmy-award winning television reporter and the mother to his two wonderful stepchildren – Anna and Luke.
