As Senior Vice President of Walmart’s Merchandise Execution team, Matt Kistler is responsible for the implementation of merchandise strategies at store level across all Walmart stores in the U.S. His team ensures that Walmart’s merchandise programs are expanding, locally relevant and effectively implemented throughout operations. Kistler recently transitioned into this role from Senior Vice President of Marketing for Walmart. Prior to that, Kistler was Walmart’s Senior Vice President of Sustainability. For three years, Matt led Walmart’s global environmental sustainability strategy, working on initiatives such as Walmart’s China Sustainability Summit, the launch of the Sustainability Index and Sustainability Consortium, and the company’s greenhouse gas commitment, among many others. He served as the catalyst integrating sustainability into Walmart’s business unit strategy on a global basis, encouraging the company's 100,000 suppliers to innovate, collaborate and support Walmart’s key sustainability goals; he helped integrate sustainability into the brand and culture of Walmart by engaging its 2.2 million associates globally. Prior to joining Walmart, Matt held management positions with General Foods, Oscar Mayer and Kraft Foods. He has a B.A. in Marketing from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, and an M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
