Kathleen L. Quirk has served as chief financial officer and treasurer of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (FCX) since December, 2003. FCX is the world’s largest publicly owned copper producer. She joined Freeport-McMoRan in 1989 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in tax, investor relations, treasury, corporate finance and business development. Following Freeport-McMoRan’s acquisition of Phelps Dodge Corporation in 2007, she was named executive vice president. In each of the past three years, she was named the Best CFO in Metals and Mining by Institutional Investor magazine. Kathleen holds a BS in accounting from Louisiana State University and is a member of the board of directors of the Valley of the Sun United Way.
