Raul Alvarez

Mr. Raul Alvarez is an Independent Director of Lowe Companies, Inc. Mr. Alvarez is the Chairman of Skylark Co., Ltd., a public Japanese holding company operating more than 3, 000 restaurants. Mr. Alvarez served as President and Chief Operating Officer of McDonalds Corporation, which franchises and operates over 32, 000 McDonalds restaurants in the global restaurant industry, from August 2006 until his retirement in December 2009. Previously, he served as President of McDonalds North America from January 2005 to August 2006 and as President of McDonalds USA from July 2004 to January 2005, where he led a team that aligned employees, owneroperators, and suppliers behind the companys Plan to Win strategy the catalyst for the turnaround of the U.S. business. Mr. Alvarez joined McDonalds in 1994 and held a variety of leadership positions during his tenure with the company, including Chief Operations Officer and President of the Central Division, both with McDonalds USA, and President of McDonalds Mexico. Before joining McDonalds, Mr. Alvarez served as a Corporationrationrate Vice President and as Division Vice PresidentFlorida for Wendys International, Inc. from 1990 to 1994. Prior to that, he was with Burger King Corporationrationration from 1977 to 1989 where he held a variety of positions, including Managing Director of Burger King Spain, President of Burger King Canada and Regional Vice President for the Florida Region.
