A former mega-fund raiser for social conservative Rick Santorum may seem an unlikely cheerleader for young Sarasota innovators, some of whom work, play video games and inhale coffee at his hip HuB office building. But after making millions developing software for auto dealers, the über-confident Biter, now 40, moved his young family to Sarasota and started acquiring downtown properties —including, with partners, Main Plaza—and raising the local cool factor. He recently announced plans to build “attainable” downtown apartments renting from $1,000 to $2,000 a month.
