Biography As Director, Decision Theater, Jon leads efforts to model, simulate, and visualize complex problems leading to informed policy discussions through better understanding and the ability to forecast the outcomes of policy decisions. He leverages the skills and experiences of a 34 year military career, executive leadership positions in private sector aerospace firms, and responsibilities as a Senior Executive Service member of the Department of Homeland Security. Jon’s military experience includes leadership roles as the Deputy Commanding General of the 205,000 Soldiers of the Army Reserves, the senior logistics Commander in Afghanistan in the months after 9/11, and as the Deputy Commanding General of logistics and support forces for the United States Army-Europe. Jon has coached and mentored executive leaders in variety of environments across a spectrum of the most challenging issues. His skills in leadership, organizational transformation, business acumen, and coalition building were refined in a number of activities including the transformation of a 1,100 member European based legacy Cold War force that was reorganized, trained, and equipped to become the Army's first Consequence Management Command in Europe. Besides his role as the senior logistics Commander in Afghanistan, Jon led a multi service Joint Task Force to the Republic of Georgia and provided Humanitarian Assistance to more than 150,000 displaced Georgians as a consequence of Russian military action in 2008. In domestic and international aerospace industry leadership positions at L-3 Communications, Honeywell, Motorola (now General Dynamics), and European based Thales, Jon successfully led large scale business pursuit efforts in a variety of technology areas. MG(ret) Miller is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds graduate degrees from Central Michigan University (Business), and the US Army War College (Strategic Studies).
