Youngme Moon is the Senior Associate Dean for Strategy and Innovation at Harvard Business School; she is also the Donald K. David Professor of Business Administration. At HBS, Professor Moon has launched a number of strategic innovations, including the MBA FIELD curriculum and the HBX Learning Platform. She has served as Chair and Senior Associate Dean for the MBA Program and currently offers one of the most popular courses in the elective curriculum. She has received the HBS Student Association Faculty Award for teaching excellence on numerous occasions; she is also the inaugural recipient of the Hellman Faculty Fellowship, awarded for distinction in research. Professor Moon's research and course development focuses on the intersection of business, branding, and culture. Her bestselling first book, Different, was published by Crown/Random House in 2010. Her ideas have been published in a variety of journals, including the Harvard Business Review, and she has published and sold more than two million case studies on companies ranging from Starbucks to IKEA to Uber. Professor Moon serves on the Board of Directors of Unilever, Rakuten, and Sweetgreen, and is a former member of the Board of Governors for the American Red Cross. She also sits on the board of several early-stage startups. She received her Ph.D. from Stanford University, her M.A. from Stanford University, and her B.A. from Yale University. Prior to joining HBS, she was on the faculty at MIT. She lives in Brookline with her husband and two sons.
