Darlene C. Jarrell, a native of New York City, came to Boston three years ago after seven years in Portland, Maine. She has a lifetime of experience in a variety of positions related to education, history and culture. A licensed Speech and Language Pathologist for 25 years, Darlene has practiced in hospitals, schools and university clinic settings with a focus on language disorders in young children. She also has a lengthy history of service to museums and historic sites having served as a volunteer in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in Maine at the Portland Museum of Art, and most recently in Boston at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Darlene earned her BA in Art History from Barnard College and her MS in Speech and Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is a proud member of the Athenaeum and serves as an active docent. She lives in Wellesley with her husband and their three children.
