Mr. McGrath’s practice focuses on executing strategies that integrate legal, legislative, communications, and business components to advance clients’ legal and policy interests. Drawing on extensive legal, political, and public sector experience, Mr. McGrath has a broad understanding of policy and law that allows him to work effectively with both the Executive Branch and Congress. Mr. McGrath began his legal career as an attorney advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He also served as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia. From 1986 to 1989 he served as Associate Counsel to President Ronald Reagan. During the presidency of George H.W. Bush, Mr. McGrath was Special Counsel at the Department of Defense, Acting General Counsel of the Department of Transportation, and General Counsel of the Peace Corps. He also served as Deputy Assistant and Deputy Staff Secretary to the President.
