Denise Henry Morrisey is a partner with Capitol Counsel LLC, where she leads a bipartisan team focused on health care matters before the United States Congress. Ms. Henry Morrisey has been a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., for the past 20 years providing clients strategic, policy, and advocacy counsel. Ms. Henry Morrisey brings to her work a detailed understanding of health care policy and extensive experience in dealing with House and Senate committees overseeing that policy. Before joining Capitol Counsel, Ms. Henry Morrisey was the founder of Strategic Health Solutions, a boutique health care advocacy and consulting firm that she established in Washington, D.C., in 2002. Ms. Henry Morrisey has represented corporate and non-profit clients from across the health care spectrum on issues arising in virtually every major piece of health care legislation considered by Congress. She has developed and implemented successful legislative and regulatory strategies for Fortune 100 companies ranging from fraud and abuse to Medicare reimbursement and reform. In addition, she is experienced in leading coalition efforts in support of client objectives. She has helped her clients successfully design legislative initiatives that have resulted in numerous legislative and regulatory victories. Prior to forming Strategic Health Solutions, Ms. Henry Morrisey co-founded The Legislative Strategies Group, a Washington, D.C., government relations firm, where she headed the firm’s health care practice, representing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies and trade and medical specialty associations. Ms. Henry Morrisey also has served as a member of the lobbying firm of Johnson, Smith, Dover, Kitzmiller & Stewart and as a principal with the government relations firm of Gold & Liebengood/Burson Marsteller, managing health care, insurance, taxation and pension matters for clients including The Joint Commission and a coalition of organizations addressing health care reform. Additionally, Ms. Henry Morrisey served as a partner in the 300-person law firm of Powell and Goldstein, attaining a position generally reserved for attorneys because of her command of health care matters and her client base. Ms. Henry Morrisey began her career with Murray, Scheer & Montgomery, a Washington,D.C.-based lobbying firm. Ms. Henry Morrisey is a graduate of The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a co-founder and active member of two Washington-based women’s organizations, Women in Health Policy and Health on Wednesday, whose members work in government or the private sector in jobs focusing on health care.
