David Gullen joined the Flinn Foundation Board of Directors in 1989 and has served as c hair since 2002. He practiced internal medicine in the Valley from 1979 to 2013, when he retired from Mayo Clinic. In addition, Dr. Gullen has served as an assistant professor in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, and has been involved extensively in the medical community both locally and nationally. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic in 2000, Dr. Gullen practiced internal medical at Phoenix Medical Associates. He also served in roles at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, including chairman of the department of internal medicine. Dr. Gullen earned his M.D. from the University of Arizona, his Master of Science degree in microbiology at Arizona State University, and his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. He spent his internship, residency, chief residency, and fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York.
