Jan G. Kinney is the Legislative Coordinator in the Washington office of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she is a member of the Business Solutions Department. She focuses on a diverse range of legislative matters. Ms. Kinney prepares the Daily Tax Update, which provides a concise summary of breaking Federal tax news in Washington as well as researching tax and government relations issues for the firm. In addition, she also assists in the implementation of strategic objectives, legislative strategies, and business development plans. Ms. Kinney possesses over 30 years of extensive government relations, public relations, and Congressional experience. She has held the following positions: Legislative Coordinator at Steptoe & Johnson LLP; Director of the Washington Office and Assistant Director of Federal Government Relations for several trade associations; Legislative Assistant for Member of Congress serving on the House Ways and Means Committee, and public relations director for a utility company.
