Thomas V. Brooks, 45, is President of Constellation Energy's newly integrated merchant organization, Constellation Energy Resources, which leverages the strength of the company's industry-leading competitive platform. Reporting to Mr. Brooks are three operational units: the Customer Supply Group, which is the leading provider of tailored electricity and natural gas products to wholesale and retail customers; the Power Generation and Development Group, which manages Constellation's fossil-fueled and renewable power generation assets and is the developer for new sources of energy supply; and the Global Commodities Group, which owns and manages a broad array of energy assets. In August 2005, Mr. Brooks was named Chairman of Constellation Energy's Commodities Group (CCG) and Vice Chairman of Constellation Energy, following four years as CCG President. Mr. Brooks serves as Chairman of Constellation Energy's risk management committee and continues to serve as a member of the merchant mergers, acquisitions and special transactions committee. Mr. Brooks joined Constellation Energy in April 2001 as Vice President of Business Development and Strategy, and was named president in October 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Brooks was at Goldman Sachs and a key member of the Goldman Sachs team that partnered with Constellation Energy to develop the company's energy marketing and trading business, Constellation Energy Power Source, forerunner to the Commodities Group. Mr. Brooks has more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, including oil and gas exploration and production, natural gas and power. Before joining Goldman in 1997, he worked at Enron in a variety of roles within its energy marketing and trading business in North America and Europe. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brooks co-founded AERX, Inc., a firm specializing in emissions credit trading under the Clean Air Act. Mr. Brooks holds a bachelor's degree in geology and geophysics from Yale University and a master's degree in management from the Yale School of Management. Mr. Brooks and his wife, Jean, reside in Baltimore with their three sons.
