Sam Caspersen, Esq. is a member of both Brock Capital Group LLC and Brock Partners LLP. He leads Brock Capital’s family offices division, providing due diligence and outsourced general counsel solutions to high net worth families. He also is a director and in-house counsel at Westby Corporation, which serves as a family office and wealth management platform and owns and operates agricultural and commercial real estate properties. Following his graduation from Harvard Law School in 1999, Mr. Caspersen joined the private clients group at the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell. Client engagements ranged from representation of privately held companies, to complex internal investigations concerning tax controversies and multi-billion dollar companies, to trusts and estates planning and administration. Mr. Caspersen subsequently acted as counsel to the National Commission on Terrorists Attacks Upon the United States (the “9/11 Commission”), where he led the multi-faceted investigation of the evacuation and rescue effort at the World Trade Center. He was primary author of a chapter of the best selling 9/11 Commission Final Report and testified at a public hearing under intense media scrutiny. After the 9/11 Commission Mr. Caspersen joined the Gerson Lehrman Group, where he led in depth due diligence projects on behalf of corporate, private equity, and hedge fund clients.
