Before his current position, Vargo served as co-chief financial officer from March through August 2006. He joined EDS in 2004 as vice president and treasurer with responsibility for all domestic and international treasury activities, pension, corporate investments, risk management and insurance. Before joining EDS, Vargo was corporate treasurer and vice president of Investor Relations at TRW Inc., now part of Northrop Grumman. TRW was a $17 billion advanced technology global company with products and services in the aerospace, automotive and information systems markets. At TRW, Vargo was responsible for all global treasury activities as well as all communications with the investor and shareholder community. Vargo also served as vice president, Planning and Business Development for TRW's Automotive Electronics, a $1.2 billion global business, where he led the development of an international strategy and negotiated and closed a number of acquisitions, joint ventures, licensing and technology agreements in support of an emerging market expansion strategy. Before TRW, Vargo spent 10 years advancing through assignments in finance and treasury, planning and development, and general management at The Standard Oil Company (subsequently British Petroleum [BP]). His last assignment at BP was general manager of Crude Oil and Products Trading for BP's North American operations. Previously, Vargo held various auditing and financial positions at General Electric (GE) where he graduated from GE's Financial Management Program. Ron Vargo holds a master of business administration degree in finance from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in economics from Dartmouth College.
