Andrew Stephen Quinn, Esq., formerly of Scranton and most recently residing in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on May 16, 2013. Born in Scranton, Pa., on Jan. 31, 1962, he was the youngest of the 12 sons and daughters of the late Dr. John A. and June Scanlan Quinn. A 1980 graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, he received his undergraduate degree in biology and biochemistry from the University of Scranton in 1984. He received his doctorate in jurisprudence from Duquesne University’s School of Law in Pittsburgh in 1987. Following his service as a law clerk to then Chief Judge Richard P. Conaboy of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, he began a seven-year tenure in 1989 as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in service to the same thirtyfive county federal jurisdiction in Pennsylvania. In 1996, he resigned from his post with the federal government and helped found a national company whose focus was aiding hospitals and health care institutions to remain in full compliance with the complexity of federal and state laws and regulations governing health care services. As a principal partner with Compliance Concepts Inc., he traveled the country extensively as a much sought after consultant and speaker whose quick wit and singular humor made his presentations all the more memorable. In 2008, he joined the OhioHealth System based in Columbus, Ohio, as its Senior Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. He is survived by his wife, Josefina Hernandez Quinn; their son, Aidan, of Columbus; his daughters, Maura and Stephanie, of Philadelphia; and Josie’s children, Mary and Michael, also of Columbus. In addition, he is survived by three brothers, Dr. J. Anthony Quinn and his wife, Janie, Waverly; Dr. Peter D. Quinn and his wife, Eileen, Haverford; and Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, New York; seven sisters, Rosemary B. Malloy and her husband, Dr. Edwin S., Clarks Summit; Susan L. Foote, Ardmore; Dr. Margaret Q. Mariotti and her husband, Dr. John R., Clarks Green; Melissa C. LeStrange and her husband, Charles M., Scranton; Julianne T. Karpeh and her husband, Dr. Martin S., New York; Sheila M. Strickland and her husband, Harry B., Scranton; and Rebecca A. Walsh and her husband, Donald J., Scranton.
