R. Trace Roller, Associate, works on behalf of several Alcalde & Fay municipal and education clients on a broad range of issues including agriculture, resources, energy, appropriations and taxation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Roller served on the legislative staff of Texas Agriculture Commissioner Susan Combs, and later as Legislative Assistant for Senior Republican State Representative David Swinford in the Texas House of Representatives, where he successfully managed Chairman Swinford’s legislative agenda during the 78th Texas Legislative Session. Mr. Roller began in his public affairs career serving on staff with Senior Republican and Rules Committee member Congressman Pete Sessions of Texas. Mr. Roller left the public sector in 2004 to join the law firm Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, and later the Washington lobby firm Barbour Griffith & Rogers, LLC, where he gained invaluable experience assisting a varied clientele of public and private entities with full service government representation and public affairs advocacy at both the federal and state government level.
