Ed has been a director of the Foundation since 1994. He serves on the Finance Committee and Real Property Sub-Committee. He is also treasurer of the UAlbany Capital Region Medical Research Institute. Ed is president of The Swyer Companies, a real estate company that owns and manages commercial developments in the Capital District, including Stuyvesant Plaza, Inc. He has been active with many local and regional companies, most notable being a board member of Capital Bank & Trust Co., now a division of Chemung Canal Trust Company, and CH Energy, Inc., a NYSE listed company, now a subsidiary of Fortis, Inc. Ed is actively involved in a number of not for profit organizations including, Saratoga Performing Arts Center (vice chair), National Museum of Dance (board member), as well as The Legal Project, Double H Ranch and Albany Law School Clinic & Justice Center. Ed earned a B.S. from Tufts University. He lives in Saratoga Springs, NY.
