founder of the Helotes Creek Nature Center, belongs to a family which has been in the Helotes area for five generations, and currently ranches outside of Helotes and in South Texas in Maverick County. Moore serves on the board of San Antonio Solar, is a Director Emeritus of San Antonio Livestock Exposition, and also founded the San Geronimo Nature Center. Moore is also a local historian, helping to get the RLWhite Ranch, (also known as Rancho Blanco) onto the National Registry of Historic Places. She has facilitated archaeological documentation on Rancho Blanco that show evidence of the oldest human inhabitants on the North American continent. In addition, she has documented Golden-Cheeked Warbler studies on the ranch and is currently undertaking extensive hydrological surveys on the ranch land, and has become a lay-person aquifer and riparian guardian.
