Mr. Lerner also was the Chief Executive Officer of Reliant Pharmaceuticals, LLC (a private pharmaceutical company) from July to December 2001. He also is Chairman and a Director of Medarex, Inc. where he also served as Interim President and CEO from November 2006 through June 2007 and a Director of Panacos Pharmaceuticals Inc. (anti-infectives) and Nektar Therapeutics (drug delivery technology). Mr. Lerner has been a member of the Covance Board since 1996.
