Connie Wong is currently CEO/Founder of Vidiator Technology, Inc. and also the President of Hutchison Whampoa Americas. Ms. Wong was formerly VP of AOL Mobile Asia. Prior to that, she was VP of Business Development for Nextel International, where she served on the boards of Nextel Japan, Philippines, and a JV with China Unicom in Shanghai. Prior to joining AOL, Connie was Vice President of Asia Business Development for Nextel International, Inc. Connie was on the board of Nextel Japan, on the board of Nextel, Philippines and served on the Board for a Joint Venture with Nextel and China Unicom in Shanghai. In 1996, while Connie was Director of Business Development for AT&T International, she led a team in Taiwan to bid for new cellular licenses. Subsequently, Far EasTone was awarded two wireless (GSM 900 and PCS 1800) service licenses in January 1997. During her tenure in Hong Kong from 1978 to 2005, Connie was the Director of International Business Development for Hutchison Telecom International and was one of the founding members of SmarTone Communications in Hong Kong, the first digital wireless service operator in Asia. Connie served for fourteen years in the computer hardware and software industries in Asia including Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Digital Equipment, Inc. (now HP); Branch Sales Director of Wang Laboratories, Inc., and Data General. Ms. Wong currently serves on the advisory boards of the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University and the Visiting Committee for Technology at The College of Engineering at The University of Washington. She is also a member of Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna’s Technology Advisory Board and co-Chair of the Women in Wireless Initiative of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). Ms. Wong also serves on a number of NGO boards, including Bahiastreet in Brazil and Cocoon House in Washington State for homeless teenagers.
