Tatanya A. Szeliga, Associate, represents clients with interests in telecommunications, information technology services, transportation and diversity issues. She works closely with congressional committees including, Appropriations, House Energy & Commerce and Senate Commerce, Science & Transportation. Ms. Szeliga has taken a leading role in promoting media access issues for minority and religious broadcasters, including lobbying for broadcast access to cable (multicast must-carry) and ownership opportunities for small businesses in the telecommunications industry. Additionally, Ms. Szeliga assists with several grassroots initiatives. Prior to joining Alcalde & Fay, Ms. Szeliga clerked in the Office of Legal Affairs for Legal Services Corporation in Washington, D.C. While there she worked on a broad range of issues including interpretation of federal statutes and regulations regarding grant making, in-house non-profit corporation legal matters and federal restrictions on the activities of LSC grantee legal aid programs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from the University of Florida and received her Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law. She also attended the University of Oxford in England, studying European Human Rights and Comparative Criminal Procedure. Ms. Szeliga is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
