Brian Masterson advises clients with respect to state and federal tax planning, tax controversy matters, mergers and acquisitions, and structuring strategic business relationships, such as joint ventures and partnerships. Mr. Masterson represents public, closely-held and venture-financed companies, REMICs, partnerships, limited liability companies and sole proprietors. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Masterson was a senior tax consultant with Arthur Andersen LLP. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Given his experience in public accounting and understanding of accounting related issues, Mr. Masterson's practice also includes teaming with other lawyers in the firm to conduct investigations of public companies. Mr. Masterson has appeared on several panels at ABA Tax Section meetings. He also lectures and writes frequently on federal income tax issues affecting pass through entities and real estate transactions.
