Maureen is Director of Federal Government Relations at ML Strategies. With more than 13 years of experience in government relations, Maureen focuses on issues related to higher education, energy and environment, technology, and transportation at ML Strategies. Immediately before joining ML Strategies, she completed her J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center, focusing attention on her interests in intellectual property and high-technology issues. As founder and partner of a boutique Washington, D.C. lobbying firm, Maureen assisted many not-for-profits, health care organizations, members of the higher education community, and telecommunications and high-technology companies achieve their government relations goals. She also has extensive experience in appropriations and special project work. Before starting her own firm, Maureen worked in-house as the Government Liaison for the then-largest publicly traded e-learning company. While there, she worked extensively with senior-level management to coordinate and execute a comprehensive federal and state government relations strategy, and also assisted the company in raising their profile with lawmakers and members of the Administration. From 1997 to 2001, Maureen was a lobbyist with Cassidy & Associates. She has also worked for Congressman Jim Moran and Governor Douglas Wilder of Virginia. Maureen received her B.A. in History and Art History from James Madison University, cum laude, and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
