Kaz Hirai

Kazuo Hirai, also known as Kaz, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Sony Corporation since April 1, 2012 and also its Representative Corporate Executive Officer since April 1, 2011. Mr. Hirai served as Chief Information Officer of General Affairs, Environmental and Safety Affairs and Vice President at Eisai Co., Ltd. He served as the Chief Information Officer of General Affairs and Vice President of Eisai Co., Ltd and served as its Vice President of Corporate Management Planning Information System. He served as Executive Deputy President and Corporate Executive Officer at Sony Corporation since April 1, 2011. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of SNE Platform Inc. since December 1, 2006. He served as Group Chief Executive Officer at SNE Platform Inc., until September 1, 2011 and its and President since December 1, 2006 until September 1, 2011. Mr. Hirai served as an Executive Vice President and Corporate Executive Officer of Sony Corp. He served as President of Networked Products & Services Group at Sony Corporation since 2009. He served as Head of Networked Products & Services Group at Sony Corporation. He has more than 20 years of experience. He served as the Chief Operating Officer and President of Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Corp., since December 1, 2006 and also served as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hirai joined Sony Computer Entertainment America in August 1995, with responsibility for the operational management. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Foster City-based North American PlayStation business of Sony Corp. Before that, he served in Sony Music Japan's New York office coordinating the marketing of Sony Music Japan artists in the U.S. He began his career with CBS/Sony Inc. (now Sony Music Entertainment Japan) in April 1984, where he was instrumental in the marketing coordination of international music in Japan and later headed the international business affairs department. He serves as Chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. He serves as Chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Limited. Mr. Hirai received his Bachelor of Liberal arts degree from the International Christian University in Tokyo.
